Chicago Trip

This weekend, my (Amanda's) mom came to visit.  We took a day trip to Chicago on the train!  I had the privilege of going with some of my teacher friends in September, so I tried to pay attention to the street signs, etc.  This time with my mom we only had to turn around a few times, hehe!  We mostly shopped on State Street.  It was cold but not too cold.  Here are a few pictures:

Life is Moving Along

I feel like I have no news to update you all with, but I said I would post regularly!  Eliot is getting bigger, fatter, healthier, and is now neutered!  That in itself is an answer to prayer, since Eliot has been sick with colitis on and off through two rounds of antibiotics, and we were waiting to get him "fixed" until he was well.   David and I had the fun opportunity to watch our seminary friends' two year old  boy for the day before they moved away for a post-graduation internship.  We will miss them!  David is currently struggling with a bad cold and is scheduled to exhort at one of the local prisons this coming Saturday.  My ACSI teacher's convention is also next Thursday-Friday in South Holland.  I can't believe first quarter is almost over!  My kids are already becoming better readers and writers, and they are adjusting well to the new math curriculum.  So far we have had two field trips -- an apple orchard, and the local grocery store for a nutrition tour.  The Lord is always good!

Cute video of our little friend at the park swinging. We walked there and back with Sarah too!
