Back to School

I began a new year with a brand new class on Wednesday, August 22.  The last couple of years I had 10 second graders.  Now I have 19!!  Ten girls and nine boys.  Here is how my classroom looked the night before school started!!
The "rug" and calendar

The desks and window
Mailboxes and supplies
ALLLLLLL the supplies my parents brought!  Thank you!!  (I organized them later.)

Titus 2:1 "But as for you, teach what accords with sound doctrine."

Please pray for me this year to show the kids more of Jesus, and teach them correctly and with patience so that they may grow spiritually, academically, emotionally, and socially.

Here is the newest member of our family .... He came home on August 6th, 2012 ..... was born about five months ago.

A kitten named Eliot!
He had fleas and an intestinal bacteria (no parasite) when he came home, but that is all resolved now.

Summer Vacation

Well, I guess you could say I took the summer off of blogging. :)

Being off of Facebook has really helped me focus on developing the relationships that I cherish, instead of keeping up with everyone-I-know's news.  I am trying to be (and am forced to be) more intentional about emailing and texting to keep in contact with those I miss.

Many of the seminary students and their families went on a summer assignment.  I did miss doing that, and it will be fun to hear about all the adventures they had when I see them again.  I guess for the first time in my life I am getting the travel bug???  David and I for the ONLY time in our lives have the same Spring Break (his last Spring Break ever) and so we might have to do something fun overnight somewhere.

This summer, David did do better in his Greek.  Thank you for praying.  He is enrolled in second year Greek for the fall.  He just has two Greek classes to go, and they are a semester long instead of three weeks this time.  :)  I can't believe, Lord-willing, that in May we will have a graduate on our hands!!!

In early June, we took a trip to Indianapolis and then Dale Hollow Lake in Southern Kentucky with my mom's folks.  Here are some pictures of our trip:
